Resumption Date For Schools In Nigeria

Public universities across Nigeria are set prepare for school resumption as from the 18th of January 2021.

This is because the school management of various schools are assigned to set out new date for the new academic session.

The Senate of various schools will go for meeting to determine the new date of resumption for her various schools, some senate have decided while other are still set to go for meeting.

Universities in Nigeria have been on lockdown due to pandemic outbreak and also for the sake of the nine-month ASUU strike due to the inability for government to fulfil the 2009 agreement.

And for this issue, public tertiary education and students in the country have been at home from March 2020 until the 23rd of December 2020 after ASUU and the Federal Government reached an agreement.

Even though ASUU had called off the strike, schools in the country won't be able to resume immediately. This is because of the directive from the Nigeria Presidential Taskforce On COVID-19 which says schools have to be closed for the second wave of infection.
